The season of Lent is a Catholic liturgical season that is the forty days before Easter consisting of fasting, prayer, and penitence beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding at sundown on Holy Thursday.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic charitable organization, dedicated to the service of those in need.  The Society helps the needy regardless of their creed, ethnic, or social background via person-to-person contact.

All are welcome to attend our monthly meeting on Saturday, April 5th at 5:00pm after the Mass to learn more about our organization.

The bishop of the Diocese of Burlington, Vermont, the Most Reverend John J. McDermott, will be the next speaker in our ongoing series. 

Bishop McDermott was ordained a priest in 1989, and holds degrees from Belmont Abbey College and Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, as well as the Licen- tiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) from the Catholic University of America. 

The Hudson native will speak about “why spirituality is im- portant, but not enough.”

The Season of Lent continues through April 16th...

On the Friday, April 11th, we will prayer the devotion of the Stations of the Cross at each of the following times:

• 3:00pm led by Pat Conte
• 4:00pm for children.  Bring yourselves and your children for them to learn to pray the Stations of the Cross
• 6:00pm led by the Sisters of Life

The Sisters of Life Commit their lives to the protection of life in Christ, acknowledging the goodness of every person, and sharingthe goodness of God's abundant mercy with all those who they meet.  

The evening will start at 6:00pm with Adoration and Stations of the Cross, followed by a talk given by the Sisters and social time to visit and learn.

Palm Sunday is the final Sunday of Lent, the beginning of Holy Week, and commemorates the triumphant arrival of Christ in Jerusalem, days before he was crucified.

Join us as we celebrate at the Mass.

Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and crucifixion.  It also commemorates His institution of the priesthood. 

The holy day falls on the Thursday before Easter and is part of Holy Week.

All are welcome to celebrate at the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper on April 17th at 7:00pm at Saint Michael Parish.

Good Friday (Holy Friday) is the day on which Catholics commemorate the Passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Holy Saturday is the third day of the Sacred Paschal Triduum and it is the Saturday before Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord.

This night's vigil is the greatest and most holy of all solemnities in the Catholic Church.  

Mass will be celebrated at 8:00pm at Saint Michael Parish.  All are welcome, always.

Easter is the celebration of Christ's Resurrection from the dead, culminating in his Ascension to the Father and sending of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. 

It is celebrated on Sunday, and marks the end of Holy Week.

Walking With Purpose (WWP) is an organization that helps Catholic women grow in their faith through the study of scripture and the Catholic Church’s teachings.

The Choristers Choir of Saint Michael is hosting a Mini-Retreat on Thursday, February 20th, 2:00PM to 5:00PM at the Parish Center. 

Young people ages 9 to 18 years of age are welcome.

Activities will include friendship, choir rehearsals, prayer, adoration and vespers.

Great experience for this age group.

Participants are welcome to continue singing with the Choristers at weekend Masses or accompany us to the Youth Choir Festicval at the Archdiocese  Cathedral in March.

On Thursday, February 20th, the Catholic Mental Health Ministry (MHM) is meeting at 6:00PM in the Saint Michael Parish Center.  (This had been rescheduled from February 6th due to bad weather)

Please join us in learning more about how the Church and our faith can be a more dynamic presence for those of us living with mental health issues, challenges, and illnesses.

All are welcome to join us to understand how our faith can help us or a loved one with the complexities of mental health issues.
